Oakville - Iowa, 2008. I photographed the floods in Iowa for FEMA in the summer of 2008. The town of Oakville in southeast Iowa was inundated so terribly by the flooding that the houses floated right off their foundations, and the roads buckled and collapsed. It was hard to imagine so much damage could happen so fast, but even over a month later, much of the floodwater had yet to recede in this low-lying town.
